When you’re in a very public profession—teaching class to over one hundred clients each day—you have to have a little confidence. And it’s much easier to be confident when your skin looks great.
We get asked all the time … What is your skincare routine? What do you use on your face? What makeup do you use? What mascara?
Today we tell all.
But let’s be crystal clear. The reason we all have amazing skin is because we eat really well. This is a nutrition discussion disguised as a skincare tell-all. So, if you’re not interested in listening to why eating clean is the way to amazing skin, we’re totally cool with you not listening. But then you’d miss my recommendation for what is literally the best mascara on the planet.
Check out our favorite products below …
Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash ($28.00): Emily revealed that she loves this all-natural, spearmint-based facial cleanser and exfoliator–all-natural products are really important to her sensitive skin. I have to admit, after reading about it, I want to try it too.
Kopari Deodorant ($14.00): Emily’s must-have product is this natural deodorant. After trying many, many natural deodorants, she was thrilled to find this one (listen to the podcast to learn why … yikes!).
Primally Pure Tea Tree Oil Deodorant ($14.00-$20.00): And recently, I started using Primally Pure natural deodorant. At the time we recorded, I had just started using it, but I can now report that it’s great–not irritating, and it works! Even when working out and traveling 20 hours to Australia. You just need 1 to 2 swipes for all-day protection. I use Tea Tree Deodorant (Click here for the link), but there are many scents and even an unscented version. In fact, a brand new scent has just been released called, Blue Tansy (Click here for the link), and Primally Pure has been very generous to offer listeners of the She’s On Her Toes Podcast 10% discount on all Blue Tansy Deodorant sales if purchased by August 31st. Simply use code WINSTON10 on or before August 31st–the offer will not be available on September 1st. How amazing is that?!
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial ($80.00): Emily also recommended this facial for weekly use. She loves that it has helped improve her sensitive skin.
And at night … Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Night Serum ($90.00)
bareMinerals Eye Brightener, Well Rested ($16.99): Christina shared that this is one of her favorite products–a go-to in fact. She uses it on her eyes and to add subtle highlights to her cheeks and nose. Love it–a product for the whole face. She also uses Beautycounter to cleanse her skin as well as makeup for everyday. Both she and Emily talked about Dew Skin tinted moisturizer and how they both used it regularly when working in the studio.
Eco Lips Scrub ($19.99): Christina’s must-have product is this amazing lip scrub that one of her friends recommended. Don’t use a lip scrub? You’re missing out!
Fresh Sugar Face Scrub ($62.00): If you’re looking for a stellar face scrub, I love this one from Fresh. The Rose Face Mask is great too, but I kind of like the sugar crystals and how great they scrub your face to make the skin feel really smooth.
Trish McEvoy ‘Even Skin’ Beta Hydroxy Pads ($65.50): After washing my face with plain old Neutrogena Ultra-Gentle Daily Cleanser, I use Trish McEvoy Beta Pads to exfoliate, which preps your skin to better absorb any additional treatment or products. I use these once a day. When I first started using Beta Pads, I saw smoother and clearer skin after using the whole jar consistently.
Trish McEvoy ‘Beauty Booster’ Cream SPF 30 ($90.50): Next, I apply Beauty Booster moisturizer cream with sunscreen. I have really fair skin and I can get burned easily. I apply at least twice a day—the formula isn’t greasy, so it’s great to wear under makeup.
Trish McEvoy ‘Correct and Brighten’ Professional Strength Multi-Acid Weekly Peel ($125.50): These are a huge splurge, so I don’t buy them all the time, but if I have a big event coming up where I’ll be in front of a lot of people, I always use one of these a few days before for deeper exfoliating. I only use at night, which is what is suggested so the product stays on your skin longer. If you use the Weekly Peel (which doesn’t actually peel your skin) you won’t want to use Beta Pads, because that’s too much exfoliating. Every time I use one, a few days later, someone compliments how great my skin looks. This product is pricey, but it works!
Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift ($39.00): Ok. This stuff is amazing. If you have dark circles, fine lines, or puffiness this stuff makes the skin around your eyes look lifted and lighter. A must-have item!
Trish McEvoy ‘Beauty Booster’ Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($76.00): If you have fair skin like I do, it’s a good idea to layer your sunscreens and this tinted moisturizer is a great compliment to boost the protection of the Beauty Booster cream. Simply put some on your hand and apply with a makeup brush for coverage that is natural.
Trish McEvoy ‘Lash Curling’ Mascara ($31.50): I’ve been wearing Lash Curling Mascara for about 7 years and it’s nothing short of spectacular. The wand creates a tube around your lash that stays put until you remove it with warm water. No need for any special eye makeup remover and no stains or mess on your wash cloth. No matter how hard class is or how sweaty I get, I’ve never had my mascara run or flake off. Enjoy!
There are some things you can save on, but good skincare products and makeup shouldn’t be one of them. It’s been my experience that the better the product, the better the result. Since I am in front of hundreds of clients each day at my studios, I always want my skin to look fresh and clear. If you try anything, I can’t wait to hear how you like it!
